Farmers Provides Assist to Operation Backpack

Impact

Oct. 26, 2021

Farmers & Merchants Bank has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area for the past several years to help ensure a successful school year for children in our area. Operation Backpack is an unmet needs program that fulfills the basic needs of children in our community in need of school supplies, clothing, and new shoes to help kickstart a promising school year.

In addition to serving as a main drop off location for donations, Farmers & Merchants Bank sends a crew of volunteers to help prepare backpacks and assist in distribution. Distribution takes place a few weeks before school begins and, this year, served over 400 children.

The Club’s unmet needs programs include Coats for Kids, Thanksgiving Meals, and Adopt a Family. Each of these programs rely on community volunteers. If you wish to join Farmers & Merchants Bank employees at these volunteer opportunities, contact Ashley Bartol at [email protected].
